Group Focus:

• Promoting composting as a key component of a just, sustainable, and community-led food system.
• Advancing compost-supportive land use policies and zoning regulations in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.
• Supporting the development of local composting infrastructure through partnerships with municipalities, haulers, and community organizations.
• Educating the public and decision-makers on the environmental and economic benefits of community-scale composting.
• Working with City and County governments to integrate composting into Zero Waste planning, climate action goals, and food system investments.
