Food Access & Assistance -
Connecting to Fresh Food, Support, and Action
Food access is a year-round issue, not only during emergencies. Whether you’re looking for where to find free or low-cost groceries, healthy prepared meals, or ways to support your neighbors, this guide connects you to local programs, farmers’ markets, and organizations working to strengthen our regional food system.
The Pittsburgh Food Policy Council believes everyone deserves access to fresh, affordable, and culturally relevant food. This page brings together trusted community partners, local growers, and emergency food providers to make it easier to find or offer support.
Below you’ll find:
Food pantries and community meal programs
Farmers’ markets and local produce stands that accept or supplement SNAP
Volunteer, donation, and advocacy opportunities
Hotlines and referral tools for other essential needs
Food access is about more than a single meal; it’s about dignity, connection, and community care. Whether you need help today or want to get involved in building a stronger, more equitable food system, this page is for you.
