About the Event

This convening brings together members and partners to share expertise, ideas, and lived experience to help shape specifically as it relates to food systems, agriculture, and food waste.

Participants will dig into what’s working, what’s missing, and the need to ensure county climate strategies reflect on-the-ground realities across our region, from production and distribution to access, land use, and waste.

Representatives from Allegheny County Economic Development, who are leading Allegheny Forward, will provide an update to the county’s comprehensive plan. After a brief presentation on Allegheny Forward, participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback through a series of engagement stations.

To capture big-picture thinking, we’ll host a “parking lot” (or garden plot) for ideas that emerge during discussions but fall outside the immediate scope of the Climate Action Plan, ensuring that important food system and land-use ideas still have a home as county planning moves forward.

This is a participatory, conversation-driven space designed to elevate community voice and practitioner insight.

Registration is free, and food will be provided.
